Real Life Agile – An Open Space event

When: June 16, 2012 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM (PT)

Where: Work is Good Collaborative Workspace, 2082 Business Center Drive, Suite 250, Irvine, CA – 92612

Hello Agile enthusiasts!
Come join our “Open Space” event on June 16th 2012 in Irvine, CA from 9am-2pm! This event is open to anyone and everyone interested in Agile & Scrum, regardless of proficiency. The goal is for practicing Agile developers and leaders to share and learn from the experiences and issues that are typically faced in the practical world of product development.

Why is it called an “Open Space” event?
The whole idea behind the “Open Space” is that the topics of discussion are not pre-determined. In fact, it will be the participants who decide what they want to discuss, and later, 3-4 breakout groups will explore those topics of interest! Some of the areas of focus at last year’s event were: Getting started with Scrum, Succeeding when customers/management don’t understand Agile, How to incorporate detailed architecture-design for large enterprise projects, etc.

What does “Real Life Agile” mean?
This is merely a theme to set the scope of the open space discussions. It means, we want to talk about anything and everything to do with getting agile implemented in real situations — beyond theory. Expect to be discussing topics like, scaling agile, being agile across distributed teams, getting management buy-in, which practices are the most important to implement first and why. Again, the exact topics will be determined just-in-time.

How can this event benefit you?
Real Life Agile – Open Space is not just another discussion forum. It is an event in which the participants self-organize, decide the route, and then steer the discussion. The event brings together a cross-section of people with a wide range of experiences and expertise on Agile, keen to share their knowledge and learn more on how to apply best practices. It is the kind of gathering from which innovative ideas could spring. If you are looking to understand ways of implementing Agile in your organization or to improve the current framework, this event could be the answer.
