PRODUCT VISIONING WORKSHOP

In order to fully benefit from a thriving Scrum practice, we must continuously learn, adapt, and improve our skills. Many of us have taken a Certification class and are one among a team of professionals practicing Scrum on a business initiative or project, but without peers to talk to about the daily challenges, learnings, and solutions we’ve found to successfully implement Scrum in our dynamic, complex, multi-dimensional workplaces. If you would like to continue the conversation about Scrum practices and techniques in a learning environment, with peers who are facing similar challenges and who also bring unique experience and perspectives, we invite you back into the Work Is Good space to continue the conversation of delivering the highest business value starting with a well constructed Vision statement. This workshop is for new Product Owners, Business Analysts, stakeholders, and Scrum enthusiasts looking to continue learning new skills.

Workshop Outline
This 8 hour workshop will focus on the process of constructing a Product Vision Board, a vision statement, and a Product Backlog by analyzing stakeholders, end-users, and constructing a Product Backlog using User Stories. Participants will learn new tools for writing a shared Vision statement that will provide direction, grounding, and business justification to the team and stakeholders and allow the team to fully engage in implementing a product or service of the highest business value based on a clearly articulated vision.

Through guided activities, participants will collaboratively create a Product Vision, Product Vision Board, and a Product Backlog. The interactive workshop will use Scrum principles in the learning process; learning outcomes will be driven by the needs of the participants and facilitated by Lisa Montano, Conscires trainer and Scrum coach. At the end of the workshop participants will have a deeper understanding of the methods and tools for articulating a Vision statement, creating a Product Vision board that effectively leverages collaborative product visioning, and creating a Product Backlog. Learners \will experience collaboration and teamwork, and will have the opportunity to discuss and critique peer-written Vision statements and user stories.
The following elements will be covered during the 8 hour interactive workshop (2-part class or full day)
* Scrum in Practice: the course is designed to illustrate Scrum in action.
* Understanding the purpose, formation, and articulation of a Vision statement.
* Identify tools and processes for developing and writing an effective Vision statement.
* Define a process for defining, analyzing, and creating profiles of product end-users.
*Understand the format and components of a well-written user story.
*Create a Product Backlog that effectively develops and articulates the Product Vision.

Participants Speak

“Lisa presented the SCRUM process in one day: Effective, Efficient and Enjoyable. I recommend her teaching.”—Patrick M..

“I attended the “Pay It Forward” Agile Scrum one-day class provided by Conscires. This was a “free” class with opportunity to donate to defray expenses. In no way was this class or Lisa’s training in Agile Scrum less than top notch. The class was highly interactive in the Agile way, plus the steps and processes were all illustrated by schedule, burn down chart, and other story boarding on the walls. Lisa put it all together for me, and I know I’m headed for Scrum Master certification…if possible with Conscires Agile Practices. Great job Lisa, and Conscires!”—Rodney T. B.

Ticket Information

Why ‘Pay it Forward’ training?

The vision behind the Pay it Forward Program is that money should not be a barrier for learning about Agile and Scrum. Each class has an early bird price ($195), a list price ($145), and a suggested donation ($50). If any of these prices are still too high, then there is the “Pay it Forward/ Donation Only” option: pay what you can afford! This option would enable many who could otherwise have not attended this class, to enroll and benefit from it.
