Agenda Breakdown

2 Agile and Scrum related sessions typically delivered during a single presentation.
• Introduction to Agile Software Development.
• Scrum Essentials.

Each of the sessions runs at 2 hours, however for purposes of brevity, the sessions will be compressed into smaller 45 min engagements.

Agile Training Part 1
Introduction to Agile Software Development

Agile methods are fast becoming commonplace in software development practices for many organizations. However, they represent a significant paradigm shift in the way that we engage stakeholders and team members, the way we plan projects, the way we react to change, and the way we work in teams.

This session will provide you with an overview of Agile Software Development, its principles, methods and values.

You will learn the reason why Agile Methods are gaining share in software projects and driving up ROI.

Agile Training Part 2
Scrum Essentials

This session will focus on the techniques and practices that development teams need in agile projects. Several methodologies live within the space known as “Agile Software Development”. One of the most widely used, and simplest to apply Agile methods is known as “Scrum”. Scrum is used by many companies (small and large), including a number of Microsoft’s internal product teams. This session will teach the required practices, roles and rules of Scrum, and answer specific questions about how to apply Agile Methods (via Scrum) to projects.

Who Should Attend?

Agile/Scrum is a process which engages multiple roles and titles across the organization. From the developer which must understand the principles and the practical day-to-day requirements to the project manager (“Scrum Master”) who must engage the developers and the business, any participant in the software development life cycle will gain significant benefit from this class.
