About the Trainer
Alan Cyment loves seeing software development from a human perspective. He strives for honest, passion-driven, great-but-not-perfect emergent design. For software for humans, rather than machines; looking people in the eyes, rather than reading e-mail. He organized the first open CSM certification in Latin America in 2006, created the largest, most active agile-software related discussion group in Spanish, and is currently co-organizing the first all-agile Latin American conference, to take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in October 2008.
Alan is currently the only native Spanish-speaking CST in the world, and is continually aiming at expanding the frontiers of Scrum, especially in countries where agility is finding it hard to make its way forward.
The main objective of the Certified Scrum Master course is to introduce experiential ways the fundamental principles of the Agile methodology for wider adoption in the industry. From a pedagogical standpoint, the Agile methodology is a challenge. It's similar to the game of chess; the rules are explained in minutes, but the real learning takes place only through its use. This CSM course, in just two days, enthuse and train the attendees, making them participate in their own learning process.
Successful completion of a two-day ScrumMaster Certification course, taught by a Certified Scrum Trainer, is a requisite for taking the Certified ScrumMaster exam. Upon completion of the course, attendees are eligible to take the exam, the successful completion of which results in the designation of "Certified ScrumMaster" from the Scrum Alliance.
* Attendees of this training are eligible to earn 14 PDUs toward PMI certification
This two-day course teaches the principles and practices that make ScrumMasters effective facilitators and productivity enhancers. The course itself uses the principles of Scrum, where the learning outcome is driven by the needs of the participants through a combination of expert instruction and self-directed learning. Opportunities to reflect and adapt the direction of the course are offered at regular intervals. At the end of the training the participants will have the confidence and understanding to begin to socialize Scrum at their own organization and support development teams in improving their processes.
The following elements will be covered during the two days
