Course Description
This one-day training teaches the principles and practices that make Scrum effective at managing projects. This is not a lecture-based training but rather, fully participative and experiential. Exercises, demonstrations, facilitated discussions, and more are interwoven throughout the course to illustrate the principles being taught.
The participants will also get experience through a Scrum simulation where they will practice Scrum values, principles and practices by playing the roles of ScrumMaster,Product Owner and team member.
This highly interactive one-day training will enable participants to:
* Understand the essence of Scrum; understand its values, foundations and adopt a new way of thinking.
* Understand how Scrum values and foundations are related to the practices.
* Get a sense of what self-organization is (and is not).
Course Structure
Establishing Rapport Activities to establish rapport and form groups that will work together for the session.
Participants work in small groups to identify specific learning objectives for the class.

Course Hands-On Exercise A 90-minute Scrum simulation exercise, where the participants will get to apply all practices, principles and roles of scrum

Who Should Attend
This course is appropriate for Project Managers, Product Managers, Team Leaders, Developers, Testers, Business Analysts; and anyone interested in learning more about Scrum and agile methods.
Outcome Skills
At the end of the training the participants will have the confidence and understanding to begin to socialize Scrum at their own organization and support teams in improving their processes. Attendees of this training are eligible to earn 8 PDUs towards PMI certification.
About your Instructor:
Manoj Vadakkan, is an Agile Coach, Trainer, and Consultant in the DC Metro area. He has about 20 years of experience in Software Development and Project Management. He is very active as a Leadership Team Member in the Agile Leadership Network DC Chapter and as a Co-founder and Organizer of the premier DC-area Agile conference: Agile DC. He teaches classes on Agile and Scrum in the United States and other parts of the world. He frequently presents at national and international conferences.
